Meredith Teller, along with her husband Chad are owners of Hazel & Rosemary Micro Bakery and Kitchen, located in Sudbury, Ontario. Named after Meredith's grandmothers, Hazel McGuire and Rosemary Ambrose, Hazel & Rosemary is a bakery specializing in all things sourdough made with organic Ontario flour, seasonal and local ingredients, and slowly fermented for superior taste and health benefits.
Hazel, Meredith's maternal grandmother loved to feed people. She could create a hearty meal with simple ingredients. She loved people with her food. Whether it was her cookie jar that was always full, or her root cellar full of preserves, her powerful Caesar salad, or her fresh pancakes. There are so many memories of visiting her old farmhouse and the pride she took in showing us her canning. She even gave me early lessons in bread baking (see photo). Rosemary is my paternal grandmother and she made the most delicious shortbread cookies and Christmas cake (that I appreciate so much more as an adult!). She loved to eat and appreciated tasty food.
